I shall
rest against the dancing brine,
The moonlight and the winds that chime;
I shall rest against the stars old and new,
That reflect tales false and true.
The moonlight and the winds that chime;
I shall rest against the stars old and new,
That reflect tales false and true.
Nestled
deep in the crests of turbulent times,
The heaviness in me melts into waves sublime;
My breath lost while crashing against the shore
As of a tired traveller knocking against a jammed door.
The heaviness in me melts into waves sublime;
My breath lost while crashing against the shore
As of a tired traveller knocking against a jammed door.
Oh!
Drops of rain, they consider me their foe,
Lashing out at me, compelling me to let go;
How dare am I one with The One?
Their existence from which did begun!
Lashing out at me, compelling me to let go;
How dare am I one with The One?
Their existence from which did begun!
Amidst
the wrath of the greying sky,
the roaring tempest looked me in the eye;
One that can never subside to my delight
Alas because it’s Me! From Me I can never have respite!
the roaring tempest looked me in the eye;
One that can never subside to my delight
Alas because it’s Me! From Me I can never have respite!
Rest I
shall against the dancing brine?
But to what avail if my soul in tumult cannot reside?
What good would resting against the stars do?
If they haunt me with memories old and new?
But to what avail if my soul in tumult cannot reside?
What good would resting against the stars do?
If they haunt me with memories old and new?
Alas because it’s Me! From Me I can never have respite!
ReplyDelete..Great line!
A very beautiful piece, starting with a hope, and as it progresses, the reality comes across, a realization, and the questions, the despair.
You like always express the emotions by creating beautiful imagery!
My breath lost while crashing against the shore
As of a tired traveller knocking against a jammed door.
Wow!

ReplyDeleteWow! :)
ReplyDeleteAh! One could dwell on the symbolism here for a long long time yet not be done with it completely. A beautiful, wondrous and lyrical read, this one is not without its own hidden facets, like your other works.
ReplyDeleteI shall rest against the dancing brine, could in itself mean so much. Teardrops, is an interpretation that sticks with me, though. The moonlight and the winds that chime, might represent the real and the unreal, the moonlight often being associated with the creation of illusions while the winds carry in it the song of the soul with its gentle chimes. I shall rest against the stars old and new, the hopes and dreams from then and now entwined deeply and tenderly with memories reflecting tales false and true.
Nestled deep in the crests of turbulent times, the heaviness melts into sighs and whispers and tears like waves sublime, but not just washed against the shore, but crashing everytime, breath lost like hope, illusions fade with time, just as the tired traveller, knocks and knocks and then leaves without respite.
Oh! Drops of rain, they consider me their foe, for there are tears that surely deck the brow, lashing out at me, compelling me to let go, to seek a moment's respite in the rivers of brine. The heart sighs deeply, knocking against the jammed door. Oh the drops of rain, the sweet sorrow, the bitter respite, the eternal promise of happiness, looming shadows of the clouds. Their existence begun from The One, sprinkled generously those drops of rain, the heart wants what it wants, the mind is numb. Yet you question!
Amidst the wrath of the greying sky, the shadows from the clouds loom darker than the night, the roaring tempest looked me in the eye, threatening to swallow the respite. One that can never subside to my delight, the moonlight and the winds that chime, bring to you a world that is bright yet it is tainted for From Me I can never have respite!
And so you question if that is the way, if the outlet shall be the way, but in vain you believe it to be for memory is ever strong and paints the sky, with visions old and new.
This is a commendable work. I am sorry I have done but a poor job at understanding your beautiful and very lyrical work. You most certainly create gems that are bound to shine in the moonlight and when the wind chimes :)
Such a beautiful rhyme. The one of conflict,hope and more so like a symbolic drive into life. I absolutely adore and admire the way you juggle with words and little nuances and create music of sorts in one's mind. It is almost like you are reciting an anecdote to me while painting an image full of colors. You have a knack of creating an atmosphere for one to enter,dwell and rejoice in. I could read this time and over and never get tired for it is nothing short of a beautiful song. Thank you for such treats!
