They were to touch base, only to feel light
Heavy! Yet, so heavy
To sigh and take flight!
Like the edge of a colorful kite,
Torn mercilessly! By towers
Of some high and might.
Like the brim of a careless brook,
Questioned harshly! By boulders
Nestled at its every nook.
To reside like an idea in a beautiful mind
Yet Chained! Tattered!
In its struggle to unwind.
They were to touch base, only to feel light
Heavy! Yet, so heavy
To sigh and take flight!
Heavy! Yet, so heavy
To sigh and take flight!
Like the edge of a colorful kite,
Torn mercilessly! By towers
Of some high and might.
Like the brim of a careless brook,
Questioned harshly! By boulders
Nestled at its every nook.
To reside like an idea in a beautiful mind
Yet Chained! Tattered!
In its struggle to unwind.
They were to touch base, only to feel light
Heavy! Yet, so heavy
To sigh and take flight!
Wow. Such a beautiful poem with such a coherent thought. The entire essence of the poem is conserved, a certain quality of restrain that has been mastered. :) Beautiful juxtapositions, ironies and similes. :)
